Inventor of Fiberglas®, innovator of building products, and leader of the roofing industry, global giant Owens Corning continue to develop composites, technologies, and experts.  On January 25, 2018, Green Eco Solutions joined the Owens Corning Roofing and Residential Insulation teams in Kearny, New Jersey for breakfast followed by in-depth discussions and more.

With scientific eloquence, Owens Corning engineer Dr. Liang Gwee discussed the company’s line of insulation products in commercial and residential applications. His expertise on the stack effect, and the importance of moisture barriers and thermal breaks expounded on the many benefits of Owens Corning Air Sealing Technology. Dr. Gwee stated to Green Eco Solutions, “I am glad to hear you’re tying a new roof to an energy audit. Green Eco Solutions enjoyed lunch with Owens Corning experts followed by a special tour of the roofing plant, from the manufacturing floor to the catwalk. Each step of the process to create high-performance asphalt shingles requires extreme precision, complex machinery, and careful monitoring to ensure consistency in color, granular density, etc. The production incorporates hundreds of test points for quality, after which batch samples are visually inspected for uniformity.
